The Muddy Middle

When the destination is clear but the road has not yet been traveled!

Ever plan a trip and you know the exact destination, however; there are no direct easy roads to get there? Well, this is similar to where we are right now in our transition with The Progressive Dentist and Out of the Mouth on line learning. The destination is clear…on a road not yet traveled. We are in what I would consider “the muddy middle”. It’s exciting because many times every day Bonnie and I both see or hear something that is absolutely bedrock to what we believe and will be able to deliver with this acquisition. That’s the easy part of the journey and one many of you have traveled. It’s those moments when you realize that what you are asking someone to deliver on is something that no one has delivered in the same fashion before.

January is going to be here quickly and my creative time isn’t being spent writing these days; it’s working through this amazing process.  Therefore this will be short and sweet. We are in a GREAT place with the team we have assembled and the contractors that are assisting us in a grand way. We have been blessed with solid designers, seasoned in many aspects of what we are preparing to deliver.

Nevertheless, we’re in the “muddy middle”. In Texas, we call this off-roading!

When I was preparing a short story for this week I kept thinking about how to give an image of what is happening in our wonderful world right now. They’ve written songs about this for years; “Red Dirt Road” by Brooks and Dunn, “Dirt Road Anthem” by Jason Aldean, “Life is a Highway” by Rascal Flatts… The images of the dirty trucks from roads less traveled came to my mind vividly as I thought about this week. When you get back on the highway after this experience, people often pass you and it’s almost like you can hear them. “Where the heck have they been?” Well…if that’s the case, we can’t wait to show (and tell) you soon!

See you “On The Road Again”  (Yes, that’s Willie Nelson!)
